Mindfulness helps schools: There is scientific evidence that teaching mindfulness in the classroom reduces conduct issues and aggression among students, and enhances their well-being levels and ability to pay attention. Teachers trained in mindfulness also show lower blood pressure, less negative emotion and symptoms of depression, and greater compassion and empathy.
Pregnant women with histories of major depression are about 40 percent less likely to relapse into depression if they practice mindfulness techniques–such as meditation, breathing exercises and yoga–along with cognitive therapy, according to a new study led by the University of Colorado Boulder….Mindfulness practices ease depression among pregnant women
